Holy Cross generated more shots in the first period than Air Force could muster the entire game, and the Crusaders took a 3-1 Atlantic Hockey Conference victory Friday night at Worcester, Mass.

The Crusaders (7-12-5, 6-10-3 AHC) had 23 of their 42 shots in the first period, including the first of two goals by Frank Boie. Boie’s tallies – he also had the eventual winner 6:48 into the third period – were his first two of the season.

Max Harper scored his team-high seventh goal of the season 2:14 into the third to draw the Falcons (8-11-4, 8-7-4 AHC) into a short-lived tie. Air Force managed just 17 shots for the entire game.

Alex Schilling made a career-high 39 saves for the Falcons, who failed to get points on a Friday for the first time in their past eight games at the end of the work week.

Kevin Darrar scored with one second left for the final margin. Matt Radomsky made 16 saves for the Crusaders.
