Air Force Locks Down Bentley for 3-1 Win to Kick Off Second Half

One month later, Air Force got the hockey game it wanted against Bentley.

Air Force scored three first-period goals, and goaltender Guy Blessing made 23 saves to lead AFA to 3-1 victory at Waltham, Mass.

Nate Horn (playing in his 100th game for AFA), Chris Hedden and Andrew DeCarlo scored for Air Force (9-11-1, 6-4-1 Atlantic Hockey).

Luke Rowe had assists on the Heddon and DeCarlo goals but was assessed a five-minute major for contact to the head in the closing minutes.

Heddon scored his fifth of the season on a power play. Horn and DeCarlo each scored their first for AFA, which took just two of six AHA points a month ago at Cadet Arena.

Colton Cameron scored in the third period for Bentley (10-11-0, 6-7-0).

Notes

The win bumped Air Force into eighth in Atlantic Hockey, and it’s just two points behind fifth-place Bentley. AFA has two games in hand. … The series wraps up Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The game will mark the final game of Rowe’s Air Force career.
